This year, WWF Malaysia dan related organization akan melancarkan Earth Hour 2009, di’mana buat julung-julung kalinya di’lancarkan d’Malaysia. Earth Hour adalah satu program untuk menyebarkan KESEDARAN mengenai PENJIMATAN TENAGA dan PEMANASAN GLOBAL dengan cara yang amat mudah : Which is, everybody di’mana juga anda berada, adalah di’galakkan untuk menutup lampu selama 1 JAM SAHAJA!!!

For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.

This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Earth Hour 2009 – What Will You Be Doing?
Cuddling up with your loved ones and admiring the stars in the night sky or organising a treasure hunt in the dark? At 8:30pm on Saturday 28 March, people from all corners of the world will turn off their lights for one hour - Earth Hour - and cast their vote for action on climate change. Anybody can participate and join together with millions of people across the globe celebrating Earth Hour.Earth Hour is about taking simple steps everyday that collectively reduce carbon emissions – from businesses turning off their lights when their offices are empty to households turning off appliances rather than leaving them on standby.Here are 10 different ways to spend Earth Hour and reduce your carbon footprint:

1. Attend a local Earth Hour event or organise your own by throwing an Earth Hour street party with your neighbours

2. Gather family & friends for a night picnic in your local park and look at the stars

3. Enjoy a family dinner by candlelight

4. Organise a treasure hunt in the dark

5. Take the dog for a night walk<---------opsss, STRICTLY NO DOG, but CATS maaaaaaaaa....

6. Have a candle-lit bath

7. Sit in the dark and share stories

8. Organise a family night playing board games<------------------nie yg aku nak plan. BBQ with my family and loves one!

9. Share a romantic night in with your loved one<----huhuhuhu......aku nak JUGAK!!

10. Upload your ‘on the night’ photos and videos to flickr and YouTube respectively, and then add them to the Earth Hour flickr group and the global YouTube Group.

Earth Hour Executive Director, Andy Ridley, is encouraging people to participate in whatever way they choose and to think beyond the hour.“There are no hard and fast rules surrounding participation in Earth Hour. We only ask that you flick that switch and have fun doing whatever you choose to do during that time.Make Earth Hour work for you. DEWI (Bunga Citra Lestari) – Chef de Cuisine restoran di sebuah hotel bintang 5 di Bali – sudah berulang kali sial dalam bercinta. Pengalaman pahit yang datang berulang kali membuat Dewi memutuskan untuk tidak lagi menggunakan perasaannya, dan hal ini membantu dia dengan mudah menghadapi berbagai tamu “bermasalah”.Sampai akhirnya ia bertemu dengan FREDO (Ashraf Sinclair), seorang turis dari Malaysia yang sangat menyulitkan karyawan lainnya. Ia moody, ia sering complain, dan yang paling parah, ia senang sekali menghina para pegawai hotel. Tapi buat Dewi dengan slogannya “Tak ada tamu yang tak bisa dihadapi”, ini adalah tantangan.

Sayangnya untuk menunjukkan kekuatannya Dewi berbuat terlalu berlebihan yang mengakibatkan mereka tidak menyadari datangnya hari Raya Nyepi hingga mereka berdua tertangkap pecalang karena berada di luar rumah. Akibatnya mereka dihukum harus membersihkan pura selama beberapa hari. Dari saat-saat menjalani hukuman inilah Dewi tahu kalau Fredo bernasib sama dengannya, ‘kegagalan cinta’. Kedatangan Fredo ke Bali pada awalnya adalah untuk menjalani bulan madu yang akhirnya gagal karena calon istrinya meninggalkannya demi laki-laki lain tepat di saat hari akad nikah.Selanjutnya, mereka berdua jadi bertambah akrab. Mereka melaksanakan hukuman adat hari berikutnya dengan lebih ceria. Fredo jadi bisa bercanda, dan Dewi selalu memasakkan masakan ber-saus kacang yang lezat. Fredo jadi menikmati liburannya. Sebelum hari terakhir mereka menjalani hukuman adat, Fredo membawa Dewi menikmati makan malam yang romantis.

Fredo mengungkapkan bahwa ia sudah siap untuk menjalani lembaran baru. Dan ia merasa jatuh cinta pada Dewi. Dewi kembali teringat akan kepahitan cinta yang sebelumnya sering dialaminya. Ia jadi takut, jangan-jangan ini cuma keriaan sesaat. Dengan keraguannya, Dewi memaksakan diri untuk menjalani hubungan itu. Hari-hari selanjutnya mereka jalani sambil bersenang-senang.Tetapi kebahagiaan mereka berdua tidak berlangsung lama.

Tiba-tiba Mae menyusul Fredo ke Bali dan menawarkan cintanya kembali. Fredo bimbang. Dewi pun berfikir akankah kegagalan cerita cintanya akan terulang kembali???
